E-Mealz
So last night as I was getting ready to fix dinner, I really had no desire too. Cooking dinner is my least favorite thing to do on the weekdays. I just get annoyed 1) my husband is not the healthiest eater and is always complaining that we don't eat enough red meat (Ben is not a big fan and neither am I) and 2) i just got stumped and tend to make the same dish over and over. So I was going through blogs and saw this thing called e-mealz. For a 3 month subscription of only 15.00 you get a new meal plan every week. Now I could print out the last 2 weeks and got this weeks and none of the main courses are the same but some of the sides are, no biggie here really I know I can always change them with whay I have on hand. They give you a grocery list and since we are Walmart shoppers I chose their store and I know what on average my weekly grocery bill will be.
I really like it beause I am trying to lose my weight. After two years of sayng I don't have time I decided to drop the excuses and just do it. I love weight watchers and did it faithfully in college and lost a lot of weight but Jason is the only one working and its not in our budget right now. E-Mealz though have dinners based of the point values on WW. Perfect! I still have my old books so I can take care of the other points and if i eat leftovers for lunch and just add a fruit or big salad I already know my points. Ahh I love it.

Ramblings
So yea, anyone who keeps up with current news knows that we are going through a lot of cuts, and I mean A LOT!! DES is cutting services and there is a chance a lot of DES levels will be reduced so parents will not be able to help their children. NOW I am not a huge advocate of DES because I believe that some people play the system, but I know a few families who genuinely need the extra help and abide by all the rules. These families should not have to suffer.
Also education is in big serious trouble. We are experiencing many cuts and things are going to get worse. I was in a meeting in the GUSD and teachers are expected to be getting laid off and class sizes are gonig to hit 35-38 kids next year. There is no more money for paper and toner or supplies. Budgets are so thin right now and they have to stretch until May. We are in February. There is no more money for professional development or career ladder programs, which is where a lot of teachers get their income. This is so depressing to me. I love the career path I have chosen because I feel our children need good quality education, but I am worried about not having a job when I graduate.
I know some of you don't have kids and some of you do. I urge you guys to write your legislature and argue on these points. I think a lot of our government forget that if it wasn't for teachers they would have no education. Teachers help develop the future generations, why make it harder on them then it already is with laws like NCLB by cutting their funding.

A little late
So I know the super bowl was last week but I had to post the pictures of the shirt I made Ben. I looked high and low for a Cardnials shirt for him in December. I like to buy them when they go on sale because I can't justify paying 20 bucks for one when they grow out of them so fast. Thats how we got his Nash jersey and I think he's worn it 2 or 3 times but I bought it big hopefully so it will last. ANYWAYS, I couldn't find one they all just seemed to dissappear which is how it always is for me, when I want something I can never find it. So I decided to create one. I printed the Cardinals logo, name, and the big 02 on iron on transfer paper, The letters are iron ons I got from Hobby Lobby. I though it turned out super cute and was really unique especially to add our last name on the back! He is funny because I am the sports watcher in our family so he really got into basketball and now football and is still saying Go Cardinals

Bountiful Baskets
So my mom had heard about this idea called Bountiful baskets and I think from either a blog or one of her attorneys. I know I have seen it around the blogging world and I decided to try. ben and I got up way early, I bribed him with a promise of playing at the park to go get all of our goodies and boy was it alot. He was so very excited when they included a package of strawberries. This kid goes through so much fruit and veggies its crazy. I got a lot of stuff tho for a great price and even some bread and a mexican pack with tomatillos. Yummy! So check out www.bountifulbaskets.org for more information
